The NSU Online Course Design Quality Reviewer Micro-credential is a professional development experience designed to prepare NSU faculty to serve as peer design reviewers in the online course design quality review process.

At Northeastern State University (NSU), we’re committed to delivering high-quality, engaging, and student-centered online learning experiences.

The Online Course Design Quality Review Program Micro-Credential equips online course design reviewers with a structured, collaborative, and supportive approach to enhance online courses through guided evaluation, professional development, and meaningful feedback.

About the Micro-credential

The micro-credential programs includes two parts:

On-Demand (Self-Paced) Modules

  • Learn the core framework and expectations of quality course design.
  • Explore essential skills for providing constructive feedback during online course design reviews.
  • Describe key considerations and standards for conducting online course design quality reviews.

Live Interactive Sessions

  • Simulate pre-review meeting for conducting online course design reviews
  • Explore course design and review principles
  • Demonstrate effective mentorship and knowledge sharing strategies
  • Practice writing course evaluations and providing constructive feedback.

Key Workshop Activities

  • Course Design Review Exercises: Gain hands-on experience in reviewing courses using real examples.
  • Writing Feedback: Practice delivering feedback that is actionable, supportive, and aligned with NSU's quality standards.
  • Online Community Participation: Engage in discussions and peer insights to enrich your learning.
  • Final Self-Review Activity: Conduct a full self-review of an online course.

Earn Recognition

Participants who successfully complete the micro-credential will be awarded the NSU Certified Online Course Design Quality Reviewer Digital Badge and be eligible to serve on formal course design review teams.
