Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosures
Programs at Northeastern State University that lead to professional licensure or certification
are designed to meet educational requirements for licensure/certification in Oklahoma.
Because licensure/certification requirements vary by state and territory, students
should review the information below before enrolling.
How to Interpret State Determinations
Meets means NSU has determined that the program meets educational requirements for professional licensure/certification in that state or territory.
Does Not Meet means NSU has determined that the program does not meet educational requirements for professional licensure/certification in that state or territory.
Has Not Been Determined means NSU has not made a determination regarding whether the program meets educational requirements for professional licensure/certification in that state or territory.
Students located in a state marked “Does Not Meet” or “Has Not Been Determined” at the time of initial enrollment may not enroll in the program unless they complete a written attestation confirming their intent to seek licensure/certification and employment in Oklahoma.
Student Location
Student location is determined under NSU’s Student Location Policy and is based on the student’s location at the time of initial enrollment in a licensure/certification program.

Relocation
Relocating to another state during a licensure/certification program may affect eligibility to remain enrolled, complete required clinical experiences, or qualify for licensure/certification. Students considering relocation should contact their academic program before moving.
Student Responsibility
Licensure/certification is granted by state licensing or certifying boards, not by NSU. In addition to completing a degree program, states may require examinations, supervised experience, background checks, or other conditions.
Students are responsible for reviewing the requirements of the licensing or certifying board in the state where they intend to seek licensure/certification. Requirements may change at any time.
International Students
Students living outside the United States should confirm with the appropriate authority in their country whether completion of an NSU program meets local credentialing requirements.
